Holistic Solutions, which was one of the first minority and female-owned businesses to be granted a medical marijuana license in 2018, is now the FIRST minority and female-owned recreational cannabis dispensary in New Jersey! After years of hard work, our recreational cannabis doors are finally open.
We have been welcoming medical marijuana users for years now, but now we have a whole new cannabis community to connect with. We are so excited to get to know you, but let us first tell you a little bit about us.
About Our Founder
Suzan Nickelson, our fearless leader, comes from a long line of farmers and herbalists. She was born in Jamaica, though her people are from West Africa. Because of the slave trade, her people were moved to Jamaica, but her family fled for the hills upon arrival.
Everything she learned about cannabis was passed down through women’s traditions, including her mother.
Her family’s traditional medicine was home remedies that healed them both physically and spiritually. Nickelson believes that cannabis is a “plant of reverence and spirituality that has been given to people to heal.” However, this plant has been taken away due to stigmatization and the War on Drugs.
Not only that, Black and brown people have been specifically targeted in arrests despite the equal use of cannabis across all races.
Now that New Jersey has legalized recreational cannabis, Nickelson is hoping to use Holistic Solutions to allow people to see cannabis curated by a Black female voice. She hopes that through her messaging, she can remove the stigma of cannabis use and allow people to consume the plant medicinally, recreationally, or spiritually.
Having a strong woman speaking in a male-dominated space brings new energy and light to the field. With this cannabis dispensary, Nickelson is honoring her ancestors who have passed down the use of this plant for generations.
Our Mission
Holistic Solutions is devoted to providing safe and responsible cannabis products, like many dispensaries. But what sets Holistic Solutions apart from the rest is the diverse scale and shelf space, as well as its sophistication toward cannabis.
Our curated cannabis offerings can be looked at with the same prestige as a designer bag or a work of art. We respect the cannabis plant and its many uses, which allows us to bring our customers the best of the best.
Additionally, we want to build relationships with our customers. We want to remove the transactional engagement and make room for connections over a plant that we all hold dear. Our store will not just provide customers with high-quality cannabis products, but it will also provide our customers with a space to connect and interact with us and each other.
We are proudly curating a sense of community that has not yet been created!
Cannabis education is also something that we hold close to our hearts. The best way to remove a stigma is through education. Through educating our customers, they will better understand the plant and be able to use it more effectively.
Our hope is that this education will continue to spread and decrease the stigma surrounding cannabis (which would then decrease municipal opt-outs and increase the ease of accessing it). By identifying fears around cannabis and providing exposure, we can start to undo the anti-cannabis programming.

Our Location
At Holistic Solutions, we are committed to bringing the best, most diversified selection of cannabis products to our patients and customers while promoting a holistic approach to healing and living.
Our dispensary is located off of the White Horse Pike in Atco, making it easily accessible to come in and visit us. We are open every day, and we also offer Happy Hours (Monday-Saturday). We hope to provide not only ample options for your cannabis needs, but a community centered around a mutual respect for cannabis as well.
